i'm not really sure whats to be approved. you
are either for equality or you aren't. no one
is happy when one particular doctrine is forced.
look at taxes. look at nazis.
people flee when they are forced.
is that what you are wanting?
surely you can't be saying that you disapprove
of it being posted publicly. do you suggest
that it be hidden away? kept secret? only a
select few should know?
no one here is saying shit about any ONE particular
religion other than the xtian upset... which
is the ONLY group upset by the image.
if you want to boycott the board because of
the image, that is totally ok. i'm not going
to change my image of you, nor is it going to
prevent me from posting on your board (unless
you asked me not to), nor associating with you
in any way.
why punish the board for that? no one here is
punishing you for your beliefs... only general
hypocrisies.
besides, its not like anyone here is really
serious about their convictions, are they?
or is it only when its convenient?

Hmmm..the picture to me is just that..a picture..ive seen worse things happen round HB..there are things that offend me as well..i wont name anyone in particular but i have been extrememly offended by certain people lately.. ..i just go on my merry way because if i commented on what i thought was disgusting it could get some people in a spot of trouble.. My beliefs are just that ..mine..and seeing that picture up there dosnt shake my beliefs at all..nor does it make me feel any differently about shatz..i think my religious beliefs can withstand a picture..i dont see shatz rammin it down my throat..so there ya have it..my opinion as i am usually taken to give uninvited.. i think this is getting blown way out of proportion, i'm not trying to start a big fight about it, yes, it is a picture, but it is a picture that i don't have to be happy with.....
i think nothing less of shatzy because of the picture either, she and i have had several conversations related to religion, and from those conversations, i think we both learned something from them....for the better....
that does not change the fact, that i do not approve of "the xtian upset", even though it is related to any religion at all, none in particular, religion has been a part of my life, and will always be a part of my life. i know it was not directed at me intentionally, and i don't take it personally. because of my religous stand and beliefs, i didnt' feel comfortable posting....that's it and that's all.
if me not posting on this board is really that big of a deal, i'm flattered, i didn't know my words meant so much to people.
but seriously, it is what it is, and i've said what i've said. i'm not upset, i don't want other people to be upset, but the comment about me not posting was brought up, and i felt obliged to explain my absence

yeah.. we've had some conversations on religion,
many of which were always cut short due to previous
engagements or whatnot... they are always interesting
to me and i enjoy conversations about beliefs
and religon greatly.
i suppose that i should point out (or do i?) that
i don't really care what people believe... what
i do care about is any sort of hypocritical
behavior that goes against it.
this next comment isn't about anyone here... just
a random comment that i feel applies to the
conversation (so don't anyone get twitchy!)
i do notice a string of 'odd' behavior towards
me when subjects of religion come up. i've spoken
about this to a few people before... but i
think it deserves to be said.
i find it weird that people speak differently
to me when religon comes up. i get the sensation
that people think that i dislike them or think
they are stupid for believing in something i
do not believe in.
nothing is further from the truth.
i notice a lot of people buffer their comments
or compensate an overly religious stance (when
i'm around) by adding 'but thats just how i feel'
or 'not that everyone has to agree'...
this is discouraging and somewhat oppressive.
i can appreciate and admire anyone that wishes
to concentrate their thoughts and behavior to
one particular doctrine -- no matter what that
doctrine may be -- as long as that doctrine doesn't
adjust (or completely disappear) when the person
wishes to go against it (hense hypocrisy).
i do not care if a person chooses jesus christ
as their savior. i do not care if a person sees
this world as a spiritual entity that we somehow
transcend. i don't care about what anyone believes,
its not my place to care.
i do not want people to feel that they have to
buffer their comments or give justifications
in comments because they think i'm forming a
permanent judgement about them based on their
beliefs, religious or otherwise.
the reason i pin-point religon (namely christians)
is because the greater majority of them ARE
hypocrites... and they would rather close their
eyes than to see their hypocrisy.
i've held similar conversations about other
types of belief... indian spiritualism, buddhism,
yadda yadda yadda.... and i have brought up
similar dissatisfaction about each of them.
(and if anyone is interested, feel free to bring
it up with me)
but in almost all cases, it is the christians
that are less than christian... and more the
hypocrites. it is also the christians that
force their beliefs in much more direct and
insulting ways.
this is not to say that i feel ALL CHRISTIANS
are like this... but i do feel that if you
are willing to openly take on the title, so too
must you defend it. this 'defence' is much more
different than having to defend your race or
color because this is a willing choice... its
an option... and because its an option, someone
would have to openly elect to follow it.
regardless... i think that the image on this
board is self-explainatory... as i have been
making christians upset since (at least) 2001...
but namely its there because this board doesn't
hold relations with any one particular doctrine..
other than the doctrine of 'i don't give a fuck'.
i don't mind if anyone feels they have to avoid
my board for X Y or Z reasons, thats fine and
up to choice. i may wonder about them, but unless
they are banned, they are always welcomed here.
dj is no exception...
